Quentin is a multi-award winning filmmaker and trained teacher - He can work to broadcast standard and has been trained to a high level in directing, camera operation, sound recording, Video editing and script development. His children's film ‘Show & Spell’ is the only UK film council short to have been bought by the BBC for Inclusion in their regular broadcast output. Over the last ten years Quentin has gained experience in a wide range of educational contexts ranging from early years through to University. Science
Richard is an experienced teacher who has taught across the full range of ages and abilities in a large inner city secondary school. He has management experience as Assistant Head of Science for several years and acting Deputy Head of Science for some time. During this time he had responsibility for Year 9, including SATS, KS3 and KS4. While in charge of KS4 he introduced a new course to the school to enable more students to access science at a higher level. Psychology
Nigel has developed skills and gained experience of teaching through various job roles. Whilst he worked in healthcare he taught individuals how to use equipment, improve their behaviour and cope with daily tasks. During University he organised study groups to help students that were struggling with neuropsychology and statistics. Nigel is a conscientious character who has a professional manner and is very well organised. He understands the importance of having a flexible approach to teaching, as learning can vary throughout ages, abilities and subjects. Primary
Portia has several years experience of working in primary schools, 2 of those in a teaching capacity. She spent a year working on a voluntary basis in a local primary school for three/four days each week and then completed her PGCE at Hull University. During her time studying she successfully completed three teaching placements at local schools. Since working with us she has been asked for by name by many of the schools she has been into, often when teaching challenging classes. Since graduating with a PGCE in 1986, Amanda has worked as a freelance artist in schools and as a Supply Teacher. As well as everyday classroom subjects she has worked with pupils of all ages on projects such as: Tudor dancing and music, thinking skills, circus skills, storytelling, film-making, how to write a quest story. Amanda creates the projects, tailoring them to request or coming up with independent schemes of work and delivering them in schools. This sort of work can be either over a prolonged period of time or finished within a day. She has also dealt with the day to day running of a business (Accounts, advertising, computing, ECT) and as a supply teacher she has worked across the ages, teaching all diversities of subjects. NQT
Nicole has worked in primary schools for the last 12 years, gaining excellent experience across all year groups. Her recent experience includes teaching a mixed Year 3/4 class, some with SEN requirements and statements. This has allowed her to complete her first term of her NQT year successfully.
